This week we spent a day with the fantastic Year 10 students at The City Academy Hackney to speak to them about our passion for the Hospitality industry and to (hopefully!) inspire the next generation to come..
Kai Weller and myself spoke to the class, who are all studying Hospitality and Catering, about our experiences and why we see the industry as an amazing career that offers so much opportunity and is truly something to be proud of!
They enjoyed hearing about all the different people we had worked with and met over the years from famous Chef’s to American Presidents and British Royalty. We then discussed the most important skills that we look for ourselves in our own businesses and most importantly having the right attitude and passion can get you everywhere.
The next step will be organising field trips through our Hospitality Academy where they will get to experience and visit some of the top Hotels and Restaurants in the Country. We already have a few top Hotels on board and are keen to speak to any more that would be interested in this initiative.
With the current staffing crisis we both feel it is crucial to start looking even further ahead and start building the next generation of hospitality superstars for the future, and from what we saw we may have a few here already!
It was such a great response from the kids yesterday and we are looking forward to going back to speak to the other years soon.
Special shout out to Anrica above who took home our £20 Nando’s voucher for remembering that Rules is the oldest restaurant in the Country
