We took some of the students from our Hospitality Youth Academy to the Royal Automobile Club, and what an incredible day it was! π
Myself and Kai Weller set up the Academy with the aim to inspire the next generation of hospitality superstars by introducing and encouraging young students to the wealth of possibilities in the industry that we both love.
Yesterday we were able to take one of the classes from The City Academy, Hackney around the RAC Club in Pall Mall, and open their eyes to the huge array of skills and positions it takes to operate such an immense and impressive venue.
From being a waiter serving the Royal Family in the Great Hall, to an in-house florist and even a full-time squash player! (yes they actually have someone whose job it is to play squash with the guests π¬)
The students were completely blown away by the incredible venue and the possibility of where a career in hospitality could eventually take them.
A HUGE thank you to Sybil Pithie for making it all happen and to the amazing team of Andrew Selvadurai, Laurent Gilis, Sergio Cappello MCA MdL and Matthew Marshall for all taking the time to share their passion and experience! π
With the current shortage of talent in the industry it is important now more than ever to be looking ahead to the future and inspiring the next generations to come.
Stay tuned for more events coming up and feel free to get in touch if you would like to be involved too!
